Where young professionals come together for coffee, conversation and community
Loneliness is an epidemic that many of us face, especially in the aftermath of the COVID pandemic and in a generation that spends a majority of our days behind a screen. I know the effects of this struggle firsthand. In my 20s, I moved to New York City to pursue my acting career (while simultaneously kickstarting my career in real estate), without knowing a soul, and in the midst of my own, personal battles with depression and mental health. Above all, a feeling I felt all too frequently was loneliness. Loneliness in my feelings of burnout amidst two tough industries, loneliness as I tried to navigate a future where I could be a leader, and loneliness in the sense that I longed a community. It was from these struggles that a simple, yet lifechanging solution in my life was born: my coffee chats.
I’ve made it my life’s mission to pour into young professionals, both cofounding a group of 4,000+ real estate young professionals and pouring into my work as Social Chair for Young Professionals of the Coastal Bend. However, my proudest work is the simplest – establishing casual, unfiltered, authentic coffee chats that invites young professionals across all industries to come together, discuss hard topics and feel a true sense of belonging. ‘Brewed with Belonging’ was born from a struggle and carries forward with hope – the hope to create these spaces across Texas and empower the future generation of leaders.
